Handgun & Tactical Rifle Training for Film & TV
TACTICAL RIFLE & Handgun Training for Film & TV (2-Day)
This foundational course serves as an entry point for participants to engage with various firearms. Through this interactive and practical training, you will enhance your skills while enjoying the process.
You will learn the proper techniques for holding and loading a range of firearms, including handguns, rifles, and shotguns, all while moving with the agility of a professional. This immersive training experience is designed to instil confidence, ensuring that when the opportunity arises on a screen, you will be well-prepared to handle firearms safely and competently, meeting the demands of your character.
The Handgun & Tactical Rifle Training for Film & TV course (Level 1) is the perfect starting point, covering essential skills over the course of two days, including the following:
An introduction to Firearms within the Film & TV Industry outlining the safe use of firearms in Film & TV productions recommended by the HSE (Health & Safety Executive)
- The five main safety rules when handling firearms and how they benefit you as an actor in the industry and keep you safe around
- Familiarisation with the different types of Handguns & Rifles available on-screen past and present, along with how they work
- The marksmanship principles that are required to shoot Handguns & Rifles, along with the relevant static firing positions used in film & TV
- Tactical movement as an individual and a tactical team
- Pistol Holster draws
- Rifle-to-Pistol Transitions
- Pistol Blank Firing: demonstrating the drills learned
- Live fire target shooting demonstrating safety and putting in place the marksmanship principles you learnt
- Competency and safety testing for NFA certification
We will cover everything you need to know when dealing with handguns and rifles on screen, from Glock 17s, CZ PO9, and revolvers as you see them on Westerns to tactical rifles like the M4/AR15, and the HnK MP5 SD6 used by Special Forces around the world. We will step it up with more tactics to give you the ability to act as naturally as possible while manipulating firearms in front of the camera.
There will be a lot of hands-on practicals on both days, but no rolling about or playing soldiers, so no matter what your age or ability you will be able to join in on the action. We perform assessments of competence as the course progresses to make sure you are at the correct standard of firearm handling and safety. There will be a certificate presented at the end of day two if safe firearm handling is demonstrated.
All this over two days for only £279 per person, and you can pay securely right here, or continue to check out on this site. We limit spaces to just 8 per course for optimal individual attention, so please book early to avoid disappointment. At checkout, you will have the option to extend the course and attend the third day with the Advanced Firearm Skill Set Training Course (1 Day) extending your training experience to three days. We only allow four to five students on day three and if the option is available when booking I would recommend it.
If you select this option “when you book” on the 2-day Handgun & Tactical Rifle training for Film & TV course, you will only pay £169 for the Advanced Firearm Skill Set Training Course instead of £189.
At this reduced price, the course must be attended consecutively as day three.
